It is also known as a Civil judge which is a
qualifying examination for law aspirants conducted by the High court of Tamilnadu.
The participant shall be appointed by the state government to serve as a
subordinate judiciary. The selection is totally dependent on the performance in
exam.
The individual with an interest in civil service or state council's, for them
Judiciary is the best option. More importantly, it is not only a part to
directly linked with the law through a professional touch but also where you
upstand for the well fare of society & work for them.
Under the supervision of each high court, there is a state(s) subordinate
judiciary member with the jurisdiction. The member of Civil judge Provincial
needs to go through the various phases for District Judge post. The job for
judicial service includes alluring benefits & privileges such as handsome
salary, house rent allowance (HRA), travel charges, child education allowance
and other bills. The remuneration for 7th pay commission is much better as
compared to other civil service officers.
Exam stages and
Eligibility
The judicial service exam has two entry levels.
1. Lower Judiciary Service
2. Higher Judiciary Service
According to the first, recent graduates will be taken into consideration for
an entrance exam conducted by different state public service commission. This
stage ensures that you earn timely promotions and a stable job in your early
life.
Required
Qualification
1. The candidate must be an L.LB. degree holder.
2. Students of final year also have the option to apply.
3. Candidate should have registered or authorized to be approved as an advocate
in India under the (Advocates Act 1961).
Age Limit
The general age limit is between 22 to 35 years and in some states it is
upto 45 years as well. It is also dependent on the respective states. There are
further age relaxations for women and reserve category candidates.

Examination
There are three phases of the exam:

Preliminary
Examination
The exam consists of multiple type objective questions. Its aim is to select
potential candidates for the next level of exam (mains). The candidate's marks
scored in this section will not be taken into account for the final list.
Mains Examination
This exam is subjective in nature consisting of 3 to 4 papers. Total marks
scored in mains will be used to calculate marks in the final merit list.
Viva-Voce/Interview Round
It is a final phase of the selection process held after qualifying the main
exam. Under this round, the candidate will be examined on the basis of general
intelligence, intellectual level, and personality development, etc.

MAIN EXAMINATION FOR DISTRICT JUDGE
The Main Written Examination will be held on two consecutive days in the Forenoon and Afternoon sessions. There shall be four descriptive type question papers. Each paper shall be of three hours duration and shall carry 100 Marks each. On the first day, the examination shall be for Law Paper - I & Translation and Essay Writing Paper and on the 2nd day the examination shall be for Law Paper II & Judgment Writing. The syllabi for Law Paper-I and Law Paper -II are the same as that of the Preliminary Examination. The questions for Judgement writing paper would test the candidate’s skills in Framing of issues, framing of charges, writing Judgements/Orders in Civil and Criminal cases.
Note:-
(i) The question papers for the preliminary and main examination will be Bi-lingual, i.e. in English and Tamil. In case of any inconsistency between English and Tamil version of the questions, the English version will prevail over the Tamil version. Except the Translation paper, all other question papers shall be answered by the candidates, either in English or Tamil, but not partly in English and partly in Tamil. Answer sheets written partly in English and partly in Tamil will not be evaluated and the same will be invalidated.
(ii) The candidate shall appear for all the four papers in the Main Written Examination for his/her answer sheets to be evaluated and in case, the candidate absents himself/herself for one or more papers, his/her attended papers will not be evaluated.
(iii) The candidate who has secured less than the minimum qualifying marks prescribed for each paper in the Main Examination will not be eligible for Viva Voce [Oral Test].
