Ram Bihari Yadav vs. State of Bihar, AIR 1998 SC 1850 (Relevancy' and 'admissibility')

The Supreme Court speaking through Mohd. Quadarib J. said that more often the expressions 'relevancy' and 'admissibility' are used as synonym but their legal implications are different because facts which are relevant may not be admissible; so also facts which are admissible may not be relevant. For example, question permitted to be put in cross examination to test the veracity or impeach the credit of witness, though not relevant are admissible.
